Report a correction

Everything here comes from the Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner's public registry. If something on this site does not match the declaration it links to, tell us. A person checks every report against the registry, and every correction we make is listed at the bottom of this page. Go to the form.

What we correct

  • Text that differs from the declarationAn item, a date or a person's role that does not match the registry page it links to.
  • Wrong matchingA holding matched to the wrong company or fund, or two different names shown as one.
  • Wrong reading of a statementA Material Change read as a purchase when it was a sale, or a date of change read wrongly.
  • Broken source linksA link to the registry that no longer opens or points to the wrong declaration.

How we handle a report

  1. We read every report and open the declaration on the registry.
  2. If our site differs from the registry, we fix it and add an entry to the corrections log below.
  3. If the registry itself is wrong, we say so in the log, link the declaration, and keep showing it as published. Only the Commissioner's office can change the registry.
  4. If the site matches the registry, nothing changes. If you left an email address we may write back to explain.

We check new reports at least once a month, when the data is refreshed. We do not remove accurate public-registry information on request.

Tell us what is wrong

The page you were on, or the registry link that is wrong.

What the site says, what it should say, and where you found that, if you can.

Only so we can ask a question or reply. It is never published.

To limit abuse we store a one-way hash of your network address that changes every day, never the address itself.
